Businesses Asked to Participate in Needs Assessment
Please take the time to assist the Altoona-Blair County Development Corp. in identifying the hiring, training and business development needs in our region. This effort is part of the Jobs 1st PA program administered by the Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED) and the information gathered will be used to offer subsidize training and hiring for local companies. We are asking for your help by completing an industry specific survey either online or in hard copy. Links to both the online version and PDF downloads can be accessed at http://www.abcdcorp.org/jobs1st.  Please take a few minutes to complete the survey before August 31 (if your organization has already completed the survey we thank you very much and there is no need to complete again). All information is confidential and will only be shared in a summary format. Contact Matt Fox at ABCD Corp. for any questions or to set up a meeting regarding the survey, he can be reached at mattf@abcdcorp.org or 814-944-6113.

Farm-City Dinner Sponsorships: A Great Promotional Value
The Blair County Chamber’s Annual Farm-City Dinner will be held at The Park at Morrisons Cove on November 6th. The highlight of that event will be the presentation of the Agricultural Community Excellence Award to retiring State Representative Jerry Stern. Although the dinner is still two months away, sponsorship sales have already begun which will provide Chamber Members with an inexpensive opportunity to feature their business or organization. For sponsorship information, contact Rachel Litzinger at 943-8151 or email her at rlitzinger@blairchamber.com.
