Congratulations . . .

Young Entrepreneurs to Hear From Local CEO’s
This Tuesday night is an important night for the current class of the Chamber’s Young Entrepreneurs Academy (YEA!). The CEO Roundtable event will take place beginning at 6:00 p.m. at the Devorris Downtown Center. The event will last approximately 90 minutes and will be followed by a dessert reception. There is no cost to attend and the public is invited. The Roundtable members, who will answer questions from the YEA! class will be: Linzi Biesinger of Altoona Beauty School, Maryann Cook of Bella Lucia, Joe Keller of Keller Engineers, Jack Makdad of Makdad Industrial Supply Company, and Anthony Snare of Snare & Associates Mortgage Services. “It’s a great opportunity for our students to hear from successful business people how they’ve dealt with the challenges and opportunities of business development,” explained YEA! Program Manager Royce Boyd. “We invite interested community members to come out and hear these stories as well.”

Chamber Trip to South Africa Full; Sicily Spots Remain
If you were one of the people hoping to travel with the Blair County Chamber to South Africa this September, I’m afraid you’re out of luck.  That trip has reached the twenty-five available spots. However, the Chamber has a few spots remaining for its trip to Sicily in late October. That trip will leave October 18th and return on the 28th. The trip is officially dubbed “The Sicilain” and it includes visits to Palermo, Erice, Motya, Marsala, Agrigento, Piazza Armerina, Ragusa, Modica, Syracuse, Savoca and Taormina. For more information on this trip, contact Epic Journeys at (814) 266-5070. Also, watch next week’s Business Bulletin for a third Chamber trip that will launch in August.  Details are still coming together but this much we can tell you: It will involve traveling to the western U.S. No more hints!!
