Missed the Meeting for Chamber’s London Trip? No Need to Panic!
Last Tuesday, The Chamber hosted an informational meeting on its upcoming trip to London (October 26 to November 2). The trip, priced at just $2,299/person (including airfare), is an opportunity that even the most experienced international travelers won’t be in a hurry to pass-up. The Chamber has partnered with Heritage Travel of Altoona and Chamber Discoveries in offering the trip. If you missed that meeting, there’s no reason to panic. Another informational meeting on the trip will be held on Monday, June 3rd at 6:00 p.m. at the Devorris Center for Business Development. Call The Chamber at 943-8151 if you’d like to register for that meeting.

Judicial Debate Set for Thursday in Altoona
The Blair County Chamber’s Legislative Action Committee will partner with Blair Countians for Drug-Free Communities and Penn State Altoona’s Division of Student Affairs on a judicial debate involving the three candidates for Blair County judge. The debate will be held this Thursday, May 9th at 7:00 p.m. at the Penn State Altoona Devorris Downtown Center. Former Blair County Commissioner Donna Gority, a member of the Legislative Action Committee, will serve as moderator. Questions for the debate will be supplied by the three partnering organizations. Buy Here. Live Here. Needs Help Promoting Program at Road Shows
As The Chamber continues to solicit support to sustain the Buy Here. Live Here. initiative, it has identified ways that we all can make a positive difference by getting the word out at upcoming local events. “It’s important that we take this ‘show on the road’ so area consumers are aware of all the good things that can ensue when we buy locally and keep money in our area,” said Linda Stotler, The Chamber’s Vice-President of Communication & Marketing. “The more people who are aware of the little things that can impact the community, the deeper the understanding on how we all can benefit.” The Chamber has identified a number of community events to help remind people the importance of buying locally. To learn more about how you can make an impact and promote the benefits of buying locally, contact Stotler at 943-8151 or email her. This is your chance to help make this area a great place to live. Plus, anyone who volunteers to promote the program gets a free Buy Here. Live Here. tee-shirt just for helping with the Road Shows.
