Park Hills to Host Thursday’s “Business After Hours”
Park Hills Country Club is under new ownership and those new owners are looking forward to showing the public the many improvements made to the clubhouse and other areas of the club. Chamber Members can get that first look this Thursday (June 26th) from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. The cost to attend is just $6.00 for Chamber Members in advance and $7.00 at the door. Non-members can attend for $12.00 in advance and $15.00 at the door. To register, call The Chamber at 943-8151 or register online.
Ribbon to Be Cut at Two Locations This Week
The Chamber will hold two ribbon-cuttings this week, one for a business that has relocated and the other for a new member. On Tuesday at 11:30 a.m., a ribbon will be cut at Drill Baby Drill’s new location on North Juniata Street in Hollidaysburg. At 10:30 on Wednesday, the Kitty Hawk Restaurant at the Altoona-Blair County Airport will be “official.” For more information on Chamber ribbon-cuttings, call Linda Stotler at 943-8151 or email her at lstotler@blairchamber.com.
“Dairy Day is Friday in Hollidaysburg
The Chamber’s Farm-City Committee will once again observe “Dairy Day” this Friday in front of the Blair County Courthouse beginning at noon. Due to the generosity of Ritchey’s Dairy, the event will feature free ice-cream sundaes until the ice-cream runs out. For more information on Dairy Day or to become more involved with the Farm-City Committee, contact Stacy Hoover at 943-8151 or email her at shoover@blairchamber.com.
Application Deadline Approaching for Leadership Blair County
Applications for the 21st class of The Chamber’s Leadership Blair County Adult program are due June 30th. The class size is limited to 24 persons. If you are interested in learning more about Blair County and how you can make a difference in your community, call Judy Juda (943-8151) or email her at jjuda@blairchamber.com.
Low-Cost Healthcare: The Chamber Makes It Happen
The Blair County Chamber has partnered with Empower3 Center for Health to offer Chamber-Member employers an affordable community-based health plan for their employees. The plan features level group rates, no deductibles, no pre-existing condition exclusions, substantial prescription drug coverage with co-pays of $10 or less and the opportunity to add dental and vision coverage. Call Maureen Frucella for details. Her number is (814) 317-5063.
Save the Date: “Backbone Bash” Set for August 1st
The much-anticipated “Backbone Bash,” sponsored by The Chamber’s Small Business Partners, will be held on Friday, August 1st at the Buccinese Society beginning at 5:30 p.m. The event gives representatives from small businesses the opportunity to network and, in general, have a fun and relaxing time. The cost to attend, which includes food and adult beverages is just $10/person. To help offset the cost of the Bash, which is appropriately named because small business is the “backbone” of the local economy, sponsorships are available. Door prizes are also accepted. For information on either, contact Rachel Litzinger at 943-8151 or email her at rlitzinger@blairchamber.com.
