Blair Business Mirror to Be Published Tomorrow
The Blair County Chamber’s ability to offer quality programming, The January issue of the Blair Business Mirror will be published as a supplement to Tuesday’s Altoona Mirror. The cover feature focuses on the countywide Corporate Wellness Challenge which pits employees from businesses in three sections of the county against one another in an effort to lose weight and body fat. This issue also includes a Q&A feature on Michael Kranich, Sr. as well as an LBC Feature on Christie Jordan. If you don’t get the Altoona Mirror (and even if you do), a copy of the Blair Business Mirror is still mailed to each Chamber-member business.

County Commissioners to Speak at Thursday’s Chamber “Breakfast Club”
The Blair County Commissioners will be the guest speakers at The Chamber’s next “Breakfast Club” this Thursday, January 14th beginning at 7:45 a.m. at The Casino at Lakemont Park.  The format for the program will be strictly Q&A with Richard Fiore, Jr., chair of the Legislative Action Committee, posing questions submitted from Chamber members.  The cost to attend the Breakfast Club is $18 for members and $30 for non-members.  To register, call The Chamber at 943-8151 or register online. The corporate sponsor of the January Breakfast Club is Keller Engineers.

Annual Meeting Sponsorship Deadline is Wednesday

“Power Cards” Ready for Pick-Up
The Blair County Chamber’s new “Power Card” is generating an incredible amount of enthusiasm within the Chamber Membership and outside it as well.  The biggest challenge: Getting the Power Cards to Chamber members.  “We’re trying to avoid the cost of mailing them,” acknowledged Jessie Covert, The Chamber’s Vice-President of Sales & Membership Development.  “So we’re hoping that our members are willing to stop-in to the office to pick them up.  Otherwise, we’ll hope to get some of our committee volunteers to deliver them.  Mailing is our last option.”  Any Chamber-Member business willing to pick up their Power Cards can do so on Monday thru Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

LBC Adult Session Focuses on Economic Development
One of the more informative and interactive sessions in the Leadership Blair County Adult program is the session on Economic Development.  That session will take place on Friday, beginning at 8:00 a.m. at the Devorris Center for Business Development.  Among the speakers will be Lee Slusser of the City of Altoona, Pat Miller of ABCD Corporation and a panel of economic influencers.
