Thursday’s “Breakfast Club” to Focus on Trump, Business
The presidency of Donald Trump is likely to mean a variety of changes to American business. How those changes in Washington will likely play-out at the grassroots level in areas like Central Pennsylvania will be the topic of the next Blair County Chamber “Breakfast Club,” set for this Thursday, February 9th, beginning at 7:45 a.m. at The Casino at Lakemont Park. Ben Taylor, Executive Director of the U.S. Chamber’s Great Lakes Regional Office, will present, “Being Prepared for What Happens Next.” To achieve the Chamber’s public policy goals, Taylor develops and maintains legislative, political, media, and grasstops resources throughout Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio, and Pennsylvania. Taylor leads the Chamber’s efforts to strengthen its relationships with members of Congress through member businesses, associations, and local and state chambers of commerce across the region. The cost to attend the Breakfast Club is $20 for Chamber Members and $40 for non-members. A full breakfast buffet is included in the cost. Young Professionals to Hold Networking Event at Marzoni’s
The Chamber's Young Professionals of Blair County will be hosting a speed networking event this Thursday, February 9th from 5:30 - 7:30 p.m. at Marzoni's in Greenwood. Cost to attend is $5.00. To make reservations, call the Chamber at 943-8151 or register online.
Small Business Partners Schedules Speed Networking for February 15th
The Blair County Chamber of Commerce Small Business Partners will host a Speed Networking event on Wednesday., Feb. 15th, from 3 – 4:30 p.m., at the Devorris Center for Business Development, located at 3900 Industrial Park Drive, Altoona. Informational Meeting Set for Canyons and Casinos Trip
An informational meeting will be held February 21st at 6:00 p.m. at the Devorris Center for Business Development for the Blair County Chamber’s next exciting trip – Canyons and Casinos! The trip is scheduled for June 16 – 24, 2017. The itinerary includes breathtaking views in the southwest including the Grand Canyon, Bryce Canyon, Monument Valley, Scottsdale and a two-night stay in Las Vegas. Globus Family of Brands representative, Doug Brown, will offer a presentation on the trip and conduct a question and answer session. Travelers will receive a $107 discount if their deposit is paid by April 15. There is no cost or obligation to attend the informational meeting. The Blair County Chamber of Commerce and the Blair Bedford Builders Association are accepting vendor booth reservations for the 47th annual Blair County Home & Garden Show to be held March 3, 4, & 5, 2017 at the Jaffa Shrine in Altoona. Exhibitor booth space is open for home and garden-related businesses interested in showcasing their products or services. The show is also accepting vendor applications for the Home Treasures room. Home Treasures offers a boutique-style setting that features home interior items, candles, spices, hand-crafted items, and much more.
