No Breakfast Club or Blair Business Mirror During July
Just a reminder that the Chamber traditionally doesn’t hold a Breakfast Club during July. The next Breakfast Club is scheduled for August 10th. For the first time since it began publishing in 1999, the Blair Business Mirror is also taking July off. The next edition will hit the streets on August 8th.

YOBCO to Mark 100th Year by Hosting “Business After Hours”
The next Blair County Chamber of Commerce Business After Hours will be held Tuesday, July 18, from 5 to 7 p.m. To commemorate its 100th year in business, Young, Oakes, Brown & Co, PC will be hosting this event at the Heritage Discovery Center, located at 1421 Twelfth Avenue, Altoona. A portion of 12th Avenue will be closed for this event. Parking will be available in the lot across from the Heritage Discover Center. Cost to attend the After Hours is $10. For more information or to make reservations call the Chamber at 943-8151 or register online.

Farm-City Committee to Hold 2nd Annual “Give-Back Day”
For the second consecutive year, the Farm City Committee of the Blair County Chamber will hold a “Give-Back Day” that will take place on July 28th at Ritchey’s Dairy in Martinsburg. Single scoop ice cream cones will be available all day for just one dollar. Allied Milk Producers will again be partnering with the Chamber. Ritchey’s will donate the $1 per cone as well as 25% of all sales that day to provide milk for the American Rescue Workers Food Bank. For further information on this promotion, contact Stacy Hoover at (814) 943-8151 or email her at shoover@blairchamber.com

Sign-Up Period Continues for Chamber Trip to China
The Chamber will travel to China from April 20-28, 2018 with Citslinc, the company that has offered trips through chambers of commerce since 1995. Last year more than 20,000 people traveled to China on trips sponsored by chambers in the United States and Canada. The trip features stays in Beijing, Shanghai, Suzhou and Hangzhou – all in 4 and 5 star hotels. It includes three meals a day, deluxe bus tours, fluent English-speaking tour guides and entrance fees for all attractions. The price of $2,299/person includes bus transportation to and from Dulles Airport, roundtrip flight on either Air China or China Eastern Airlines, all accommodations and all meals. The Chamber held an informational meeting about the trip on May 10th and will hold an additional meeting in the Fall. Anyone interested in acquiring information or registering for the trip should contact the Chamber at (814) 943-8151.
