Congratulations . . .

Tomorrow is Election Day.  Are You Ready?
The Public Policy Committee of the Chamber wants to remind you that the results of tomorrow’s General Election are extremely important to Blair County’s future. Hopefully, you’ll exercise your right to vote. In the County Commissioner’s race, there are a number of issues of importance to the business community. If you’d like to know how the candidates stand on those issues, go to the Blair County Chamber’s YouTube Channel and watch the video interviews with each of the four candidates. If you live in either the Altoona Area School District or the Hollidaysburg Area School District, refer to the October copy of the Blair Business Mirror to see how candidates for school board in those districts answered questions of importance to our county’s future. It’s important to be prepared. Let the Chamber provide the relevant information!

“Business After Hours” is Tomorrow Too!
People who enjoy attending the Chamber’s monthly “Business After Hours” will get a rare treat. The November event is being held less than a week after the October one. In fact, it’s tomorrow! Park Home in Duncansville will host the Business After Hours from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Cost to attend is $10 for Chamber Members and $20 for non-members. Reservations can still be made by calling the Chamber at 943-8151 or register online.

Farm-City Dinner is Wednesday in Freedom Township
The Blair County Chamber's Annual Farm-City Dinner will be held this Wednesday, November 6th at the Freedom Township Fire Hall.  The highlight of the evening is the presentation of the Agricultural Community Excellence (ACE) Award to Jack & Peggy Mock. Guest speaker for the dinner is Dave Grazier of Kunzler & Company. The evening starts at 6:30 p.m. with a milk/punch reception and the dinner/program begins at 7:00. All ticket sales for the event have concluded.

Chamber Recognizes “All-Stars” for October
The Blair County Chamber’s ability to offer quality programming, events, recognition and advocacy efforts depends largely on the willingness of sponsors to step up to help underwrite the costs associated those efforts. So at the end of each month, we publish a list of businesses or individuals who sponsored anything Chamber-related during the month. They have helped us to make a difference in the business community. All-Stars for October are: AgChoice Farm Credit, Allegheny Lutheran Social Ministries, Altoona-Blair County Development Corp., Altoona Mirror, Blair Companies, Blair County Conservation District, DeGol Organization, DelGrosso Family of Companies, FirstEnergy, First National Bank, Hampton Inn Altoona, Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield, J.V.
