Safety Series Will Focus on Value of Committees
As safety in the workplace takes-on even greater importance, it’s rare that any business attempts to address safety issues without the benefit of a safety committee. Just having a committee, however, doesn’t guarantee effectiveness or compliance. For that reason, the Safety Committee of the Blair County Chamber will hold a two-part series entitled, “How Much Value Does Your Safety Committee Deliver?” Part I will be held on November 22nd with registration and breakfast at 7:30 a.m. and the program itself from 8:00 a.m. until 9:30. The location is Hoss’s in Duncansville. Barb Smith from Teeter Group will be the presenter. Attendees will learn about: Safety Committee Structure, Certifying your safety committee in Pennsylvania, Operational functions and essential activities, Communication and record-keeping best practices, and Ways to increase safety awareness. Part II of the series will be held on December 16th – same times, same location. The presenter will be Tom Churbock of HSE Solutions. Attendees will learn about: Roles and responsibilities of the committee, Using systems and processes to break with tradition, and Doing a pulse check on your committee.
The cost to attend each session is $20 for Chamber Members and $30 for non-members. To register for either or both, call the Chamber at (814) 943-8151 or register here for Part I. To register for Part II click here.
