Blair Business Mirror to Be Published Tomorrow
The December issue of the Blair Business Mirror will be published tomorrow as a supplement to the Altoona Mirror. The cover story of this month’s issue will be Peterman’s Flower Shop which is marking 100 years of serving the Blair County Community. Other features include a Q&A with Joe DeStadio, the new President of Gardners Candies in Tyrone and an “Off the Cuff” column on Overflow Church. If you don’t get the Altoona Mirror or prefer to read the Blair Business Mirror in digital format, send us your email and we will send you a link each month. Stanbro to Speak at December Chamber “Breakfast Club”
Cindy Stanbro, Executive Director of Altoona Community Theatre, will be the speaker at the next Blair County Chamber Breakfast Club this Thursday, December 12th, beginning at 7:45 a.m. at The Casino at Lakemont Park. Stanbro will talk about the many outstanding programs that the theatre will offer during 2020. The cost to attend Breakfast Club is $20 for Chamber Members and $30 for non-members. Safety Program to Focus on Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse
The Safety Committee of the Blair County Chamber, in cooperation with Advantage Resource Group, will hold a Lunch’n’Learn program on “Drug & Alcohol Clearinghouse” this Friday, December 13th from noon to 1:30 p.m. at the Devorris Center for Business Development. Jamie Miller, general manager of Advantage Resource Group, will be the speaker. The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration Commercial Driver’s License Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse is a secure, online database that will give employers, State Driver Licensing Agencies and State law enforcement personnel real-time information about CDL driver drug and alcohol program violations, thereby enhancing safety on our nation’s roadways. Part II of Safety Committee Series Set for December 16th
On December 16th, Tom Churbock of HSE Solutions will present Part II of “How Much Value Does Your Safety Committee Deliver,” which debuted on November 22nd. Part II, set for Hoss’s in Duncansville from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m., will address the roles and responsibilities of the committee and suggest ways to assess its effectiveness. Local Agencies Collaborating on Job Fair
The Blair County Chamber of Commerce, PA CareerLink®, Southern Alleghenies Workforce Development Board and Altoona Blair County Development Corporation will be hosting a job fair on Tuesday, December 17 at the Jaffa Shrine from 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. For more information, contact Greg Crooks at 814-940-6219 or email him at gcrooks@pa.gov.
Jaffa Shrine Center Hosting December’s “Business After Hours”
The next Chamber Business After Hours will be held at the Jaffa Shrine Center, located at 2200 Broad Avenue, Altoona on December 19 from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. Tours will be given of the Shrine to locations not seen by the general public. Cost to attend is $10 for Chamber Members and $20 for non-members. EARLY BIRD MEMBER SPECIAL: register by December 12 for only $7.00. Reservations can be made by calling the Chamber at 943-8151 or register online.

As the Chamber begins the process of compiling information for the 2020 Membership Directory, it’s extremely important that you let us know if your contact information is up-to-date. And what to do if it’s not! You can review your membership information online at www.blairchamber.com.
